"more seating areas’"

  • We have improved our seating ratio
Since 2003 the number of individual seats available has improved in our libraries. We aim to achieve a 1:7 ratio and have surpassed this in all but 3 of our libraries. We have also provided a variety of seating to suit all study needs: quiet study, group study, computers and casual lounge seating.
  • We are reviewing how we can improve individual seating
We will be adding more screens to our study desks to ensure that individual seating space can be improved. We are unable to accommodate any more seats in the Berwick Library and Learning Commons and will investigate the possibility of improving the seating numbers in Caulfield over the next 12 months.

While the demand on library resources and facilities is increasing, the space available is not. It is our challenge to make the best possible use of this space and to constantly improve seating where possible.
