Library users survey 2007

"Library catalogue provides clear and useful information"

What you said: What the Library is doing about it:
Importance: 6.19/7
Performance: 5.16/7
Gap: 1.04

“The library catalogue is inflexible in the way that it deals with searches --that is, there's no 'fuzzy' search option. This means that items don't come up when I make spelling errors”

“If the library catalogue add the contents of the books along with brief description of the book, then it might be worthy and user friendly”

  • We are improving our search functionality
We will be implementing a spell checker for the catalogue later in the year that will provide alternative spellings like Google.
  • We are keeping a watching brief on new developments
We are continually investigating new software developments to improve the look and feel of the catalogue. The catalogue is upgraded with new features and functionality each year and we continually strive to improve the search engine of the catalogue.
  • The catalogue provides content pages
The catalogue does provide content pages to some books and journals and this is increasing all the time.

“We upgrade the catalogue each year with new functionality and features and look for improvements in the look and feel.”
