Library user's survey 2005

Gaps 2005 / 2003

Significant improvements (i.e. a lessening of the gap between perceived performance and importance by -0.2 or more) are bolded and all improvements are coloured pale blue.

Three statements saw increases in the gap between perceived performance and importance (in grey) indicating areas of concern that have arisen in the last two years. The most significant of these is 'individual seating is adequate'.

The issue of the library study environment may have gained more prominence due to the impact of ongoing construction at Hargrave-Andrew Library, due to be completed September 2005. The comments provided suggest users frequently misinterpret 'library web pages' to mean databases and electronic journals accessed via the library website or catalogue, to which the library subscribes, but has no control over in terms of look, feel and functionality. Many of the comments suggested respondents found using databases and electronic journals confusing and unclear. This may account for the small increase in the gap between importance and performance for this statement.
