How will it benefit library users?

Better access to online resources, through:

  • twice the number of computer workstations
  • forty new ‘express’ computer terminals for accessing the library catalogue and resources
  • the introduction of a wireless network plus more data and power points for notebook users

Better layout for easy navigation, through:

  • adoption of an open-plan style of layout allowing users to see further and discover more within the building
  • improved signage
  • colour-coded spaces indicating service and information areas
  • vastly improved access for people with a disability

An environment more conducive to study, through:

  • movable, adaptable furniture
  • separate study areas that support individual and collaborative study
  • attractive and comfortable casual seating areas
  • modern, professionally designed interior
