KEY AREA 2: ENHANCING SUPPORT FROM THE LIBRARY
The Library, primarily through its faculty teams, works
with faculty members to build library collections in support of the
University’s education activities, develop information literacy programs,
and provide a range of help services for students and staff.
2.1 Liaison by
faculty teams and contact librarians
Library faculty teams and contact librarians liaise
closely with faculty members and students to monitor changes in their
education needs and to facilitate an environment of technology supported
learning.
Objective 2.1.1: To increase faculty teams and
contact librarian activities focus on the specific needs of students and
staff involved in education.

2.2
Information literacy
The Library supports a continuum of information
literacy development from commencing undergraduates to postgraduate level
independent learning. Contact librarians work with teaching staff to embed
this development into courses where possible.
Objective 2.2.1: To ensure that staff and
students are aware of resources and services and are able to access,
evaluate and integrate information effectively and ethically.
