Locating newspapers in Monash University Library

Asian language newspapers

Asian language newspapers are held in the Asian Studies Research Collection (ASRC), Lower Ground Floor, Sir Louis Matheson Library. Latest issues are held on the ASRC Current Serials and Newspapers shelves, older issues are held in the Compactus. Some issues are held in the South East Asian (SEA) Pamphlet Collection in closed access. Ask at the ASRC Information Desk for assistance. ASRC newspapers are grouped by language. Newspapers on microfilm are held in the Music and Multimedia Collection.

English language newspapers

Sir Louis Matheson Library
Current issues of English language newspapers are located in the Newspaper Room, First floor of the Main Wing. Earlier issues of newspapers are held in Matheson Library Newspaper Store (Closed Collection). Complete a 'closed access' form (ask at the Information Desk) to access material located in the Matheson Library Newspaper Store.  Newspapers are also sometimes located in the Matheson Library Serials or Rare Books Collections.  Many older issues of newspapers are on microfilm or microfiche. Microfilm and microfiche are held in the Music and Multimedia Collection, Ground Floor, Matheson Library.

Berwick Library
Newspapers are located in the Serials Collection.

Caulfield Library
Newspapers are located in the Serials Collection.

Gippsland Library
Newspapers are located in the Serials Collection.  Current issues are shelved on the newspaper stand.

Law Library
Newspapers are located in the Serials Collection and filed by title on the shelves.

Peninsula Library
Newspapers are located in the Serials Collection.
