Access library help how and when you want it

The Library has a number of help options available to suit the needs and preferences of its users. Extended operating hours and staffing mean increased capability to meet demand during semester.

Monash students and staff can get help by asking a question online, by phone or in person. Library staff members are on hand to answer questions and provide advice and help with information and research needs as well as academic learning skills.

Online help via ask.monash provides frequently asked questions about the Library’s resources and services and the ability to lodge a query. In addition, interactive help through online chat operates from 12 noon to 9pm during semester, Monday to Friday. Log in and get a hand with databases, the catalogue, researching for assignments, loans and other search queries.

Telephone help is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. Call +61 3 9905 5054 or 1800 331 194 toll free within Australia. If you require help in person, go to the information desk at your branch library. Or find your faculty team contact or learning skills adviser.

There are also many self-help tools such as classes and workshops, online tutorials, subject guides, information sheets, catalogue help, and the learning and teaching support website. Find out more on our website about library help.
