Pharmacy Library reopens in style |
||
| The CL Butchers Pharmacy Library has moved back to its permanent home in the Manning Building and the library’s temporary site at 407 Royal Parade has closed. The refurbished library provides a better, more convenient facility for users and is almost double the size it was formerly. It occupies the majority of the ground floor of the Manning Building. The library has been designed to be technologically enabled, more adaptable to changing study styles, easier to navigate and modern. Maxine Cuskelly, Pharmacy Library manager, cordially invites staff to visit the new facility and take a look at it in operation. “We are so grateful for the patience shown by staff and students during the refurbishment period“, she says. “Students are already making good use of the expanded facilities, which were sorely needed”. The entrance to the new library is from the main corridor via a glass door. A display of pharmacy artefacts has been selected to be displayed in a "Culture Wall' near the entrance. Pharmacy journals that were held off-site during the refurbishment have returned. A training room opens up for students’ use when there is no library class or workshop booked. A section in group study will be equipped with a whiteboard and serve as a flexible learning space. With 67 computers including 27 in the training room, students have access to more computer workstations. At the same time the library has been rearranged to better separate areas for quiet and group work. 26 August 2008 current news : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Need help?
