Online chat service expanded to meet demand |
||
| The Library offers a virtual information desk where you can get real-time help without having to visit a library branch. Library staff members are waiting online to provide advice and help with databases, the catalogue, researching for assignments, loans and other search queries. While a similar program operated in previous years, in 2008 Online Chat has significantly expanded, with operating hours extended until 9 pm to provide access to people studying in the evening. The number of operators at any one time has also increased so more people can be helped. This expansion is part of the Library’s efforts to improve students’ access to timely help when finding and using library resources. Online chat is available to Monash staff and students. Depending on your internet connection and the web pages being browsed, you and a librarian can see the same page and interact online, if that is the kind of help you require. Log in to online chat, from the link at the bottom of any library web page. During semester the service operates from 12 noon to 9 pm, Monday to Friday. 10 March 2008 current news : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Need help?
