Library annual report online

The 2004 Annual Report of the University Librarian is now online. The report highlights major achievements for the year and provides statistics on the library collection and services.

University Librarian, Cathrine Harboe-Ree pointed out noteworthy developments in 2004 as including:

  • a 9.8 per cent increase in library door count with Matheson and Caulfield libraries receiving over a million visits each;
  • a significant increase in use of electronic resources, coupled with a gradual decrease in the use of loans and reference services;
  • a 7.4 per cent increase in collection acquisitions funds, promoting strong collection growth and creating a collection second to none in the country;
  • plans for expansion of the online lectures service and increased wireless network access in library buildings;
  • the refurbishment of the Hargrave-Andrew Library;
  • the release of two journals by the Monash University ePress; and
  • advances in the development of software for the ARROW project.
