All new copiers and printers for library users

The library will replace all existing photocopiers with new digital copiers by start of semester in 2004, and has installed high volume and additional printers at most branches.

Rechargeable copy/print card
Library users on Parkville campus to switch to rechargeable copy/print cards as part of a library-wide update of printing and copying facilities.

New, high-volume printers have been installed in the Matheson, Hargrave-Andrew, Law, Caulfield and Berwick branches, and additional printers have been installed at the Peninsula and Pharmacy branches to cope with increasing demand for printing.

All branches except Gippsland Library (whose copiers are maintained by the Gippsland campus administration) will also have new photocopiers installed before semester one commences.

“We anticipate that the new copiers will be simpler to use and break down less frequently than the current ones,” said information systems director, Janette Burke.

Users of the CL Butchers Pharmacy Library at the Parkville campus will also be able to use the rechargeable copy/print cards used at most other branch libraries from semester one, 2004.

“The rechargeable copy/print cards mean our students and staff can add value to the card to pay for their printing and copying rather than carrying around a load of change all the time,” said Pharmacy Library manager, Maxine Cuskelly.

Instructions on use will be posted near the new equipment and assistance is available from library staff.
