New PC's for students installed across all libraries

More than 160 computers have been replaced in libraries across Monash University’s Victorian campuses throughout December 2002.

The computers were replaced in response to student requests and needs, explained Monash University Library Director of Information Systems, Janette Burke.

“The need for a more robust and high performance printing system prompted us to replace 162 student-use computers,” said Ms Burke.

“The new computers also provide access to the Internet and Microsoft Office software, and enable the printing of PDF files from the library’s electronic resources.”

An additional twenty computers have also been installed in Caulfield library to meet the needs of a growing student body.
