Visiting, searching & borrowing

Visiting

The collection and study and computer facilities can be accessed by visiting the Sir Louis Matheson Library. View the Matheson Library floor plan to locate the collection. Specialist Asian studies librarians can be found at the ASRC information desk.

Please note: access to materials on restricted access is only available during ASRC information desk hours. Access to reading and study areas, computers and the most of the collection is available during Matheson Library opening hours.

Searching

To discover materials in the collection search the library catalogue. Or go to the guide to Asian Studies research resources for lists of selected resources in the collection, including research materials on microform or in print and relevant databases.

Borrowing

Most items in the Asian Studies Research Collection are available for loan to Monash University staff and students, CAVAL and ULA borrowers and fee-paying members under standard loans conditions. Some special collections of rare or fragile material are on closed access and can only be consulted or photocopied in the library. Staff and students from other institutions can borrow most material held in the collection by requesting the required item from the Document Delivery/Inter Library Loans section of your institution's library. Staff and students from the University of Melbourne may also access the collection under the auspices of the Melbourne Asian Research Libraries Consortium.
