Getting started at the Library

The Library can be overwhelming when you are new. All the basic information you need is right here to give yourself a head start.

Borrowing and access:

  1. Get your Monash ID card (from a Student Service Centre) so that you can borrow from any branch library.
  2. Register for a Monash Authcate account to access electronic resources.
  3. Go on a library tour.
  4. Find out how many items you can borrow and for how long.
  5. Check out when your branch library is open

Virtual library

The Library website: www.lib.monash.edu is your access point to the catalogue and online resources. These resources can also be accessed via the library tab of the my.monash portal.

Finding information and learning support

Your information research and learning skills are key to your academic success at Monash.  You can develop these skills, save time and be more effective in your learning and research. Join an introductory library or learning skills session.
