United Nations Statistics Division
Many UN statistical publications are only available by subscription. Some exceptions are:

  • United Nations Common Database (UNCDB)
    Provides selected series from numerous specialized international data sources for all available countries and areas
  • Social Indicators
    Includes statistics on population, youth and elderly populations, human settlements, water supply and sanitation, housing, health, child-bearing, education, illiteracy, income and economic activity, unemployment.
  • Millennium Indicators Database
    A framework of 8 goals, 18 targets and 48 indicators to measure progress towards the Millennium Development goals was adopted by a consensus of experts from the United Nations Secretariat in consultation with IMF, OECD and the World Bank, and other specialized agencies of the UN System. Each indicator on this site is linked to millennium data series and to background series related to the target in question. It includes 48 social and economic indicators and related series by country and previous 15 years.
