Food, drink, noise and mobile phones in Gippsland Library

Please be considerate of your fellow users and observe the following guidelines:

  • Mobile phones should be set to vibrate or silent on the upper level of the library. Phones should be switched off in quiet study areas.
  • Cold snack food is allowed on the upper level of the library. No food is allowed near computers and in quiet study areas.
  • Covered drinks (with lids) are allowed throughout the library except near computers.
  • A moderate level of noise is permitted on the upper level of the library. Library users are asked to keep noise to a minimum in quiet study areas and during the lead-up to exams.

Library users who do not comply with these guidelines may be asked to leave the library. In exceptional cases, a disciplinary hearing may follow.

Find out more about these guidelines. More information about other aspects of using the library (e.g. loans conditions) are set out in the library regulations.
