Using Endnote on library workstations

Endnote on the library’s computers can be temporarily modified when

  • you would like to download a suggested connection or filter file
  • use your own style file when working with your Endnote library and Word document

You may have your own files either on your memory stick (removable drive) or on your network drive (the U: drive). Ensure you are logged into Novell to access your U: drive

Steps for this procedure:

  1. Insert memory stick if required
  2. Open Endnote program
  3. From the Edit menu, select Preferences
  4. Select Folder locations
  5. Change desired file locations by clicking Select Folder and browsing to location eg C:\Documents and Settings\all-user-web.library-local\Desktop for the desktop or E:\ for the memory stick or U:\ for the network.

Once the folder is set, the only style, filter, connection options available will be the ones at the nominated location. If one of the standard options is needed then the program Preferences need to be set again

Upon logout all changed settings will return to the original settings and anything saved on the desktop will be erased
